Hello in 5 different sign languages grew from my interest in how different countries communicated through sign language.
Obviously BSL and ASL are the most common, but I wanted to know how other sign language users used signs, how they differed.
I made my findings into an illustrative video, choosing 5 languages, using BSL as a medium.
I illustrated everything on Procreate, before exporting it into Adobe After Effects, and adding the music and text, which I thought was fitting as the characters were all signing 'hello' in their native sign language, so the song had to match.
